EXCELLENT 1ST YEAR Black Snorkel Sentinel. XF to Fine Point. Length capped – 5 1/2. Point – XF to Fine. This 1st year Snorkel Sentinel looks great and is in excellent to near-mint restored condition. There are no dings or scratches to the stainless steel cap and no scratches visible on the black plastic. The filling system has been fully restored with new sac, point seal, and O ring, and the blind cap. Has a new and better seal to the plunger tube. The XF-to-F nib writes super smooth and slightly wet (please see the photo of the writing sample). Sheaffer began making the Snorkel-filling Thin Model in 1952, and with no fanfare included a solid 14k gold Snorkel tube for the first year of production. For the rest of the 8-year production run, Snorkel tubes were stainless steel, so that these special 1st year models have become sought after by collectors. I will include a photocopy of the original Sheaffer paper insert that came with all Snorkel pens. The insert provides filling directions and other Snorkel information.
