Sheaffer’s line of Pen For Men models — and there were originally five of them — succeeded the well known Snorkels, beginning their run in 1959 and ending about 1967. However, by 1963 the line had been reduced to just the PFM III and V. Thus today the PFM II and IV are much less commonly seen for sale. This example has a very unusual cap: PFM IIs were satin finished and are usually found with visible scratches that cannot be removed without destroying the satin finish. This is one of the best original caps that I’ve seen. The restoration of this pen included the replacement of the sac, seals, and O ring. Black plastic parts have been refinished to eliminate visible scratches. The nib has been tuned for smoothness and medium ink flow. I’ll include a copy of the Sheaffer directions for PFMs and a non-original case. I guarantee the pens I restore write smoothly and fill as designed.
