EXCELLENT 1ST YEAR Burgundy Snorkel Clipper. Medium to Fine Point. Length capped – 5 1/2. This first-year burgundy Clipper is in excellent restored condition. There are no faults. Clippers feature palladium silver nibs. Palladium is known for its excellent ink flow characteristics and was used as a mask material on Sheaffer’s best gold nibs for decades. First-year Snorkels (1952) had solid gold Snorkel tubes installed by Sheaffer with no advertising or announcement. A few years later a couple collectors discovered the fact when they sent a tube for assay. I will include a photocopy of the original Sheaffer Snorkel paper instructions leaflet that came with every Snorkel pen. Replacement of all seals and the sac. Smoothing and adjusting the nib. Refinishing the plastic, stainless steel, and gold-filled surfaces. Filling the pen with ink (not just dipping). And producing multiple writing samples over 2 days (like the one in the photo).
