MINT Black 1st YEAR Snorkel Clipper. Fine Point Pen & Pencil. Length capped – 5 1/2. This is a mint, first-year (1952) Snorkel pen and pencil set with the unique 14k gold Snorkel tube. When I disassembled this set I concluded there had been little or no use. I’ve taken a photo of the inside of the pen cap that shows no sign of ink. The wet swab I inserted into the sac came out clean. I’ve replaced the seals and sac, cleaned, and lightly polished. The barrel imprint is very deep. The pencil has an unused eraser and several leads in the storage area under the eraser. The case is in very good condition and not original to the set. The spring that snaps the cover closed is broken, and there is an ink spot on the left side of the lining. The set includes the original Snorkel instructions leaflet dated 10/52. The palladium silver nib is the earliest example. With the single word, Sheaffer. Replacement of all seals and the sac. Filling the pen with ink (not just dipping). And producing multiple writing samples over 2 days (like the one in the photo). I guarantee the pens I restore write smoothly and fill as designed.
