The pen has a new point seal, sac, and O ring. Plastic surfaces have been lightly refinished to eliminate visible scratches. I’ve tuned and smoothed the point and adjusted the ink flow for slightly wet medium flow. Sheaffer produced the five Pen For Men models between 1959 and 1968 and named them with roman numerals I through V. In 1963 they eliminated PFM I, II, and IV. Restored Sheaffer Excellent Burgundy Pen For Men I (PFM I) Extra Fine Point. Length capped – 5 3/8. Point – Extra Fine. Sheaffer’s line of PFM pens was produced from 1959 through 1968, although all but PFM III and PFM V were discontinued in 1963. Color selection was quite basic: black, burgundy, blue, dark gray, and green. This example has had a complete restoration and cleaning. It received new seals and PVC sac. The chrome plating is excellent and the plastic surface shows no signs of use except for a couple small marks where the cap slips onto the barrel (see photos). The extra fine palladium silver inlaid nib writes smoothly and with medium ink flow. I guarantee the pens I restore write smoothly and fill as designed.
