VERY GOOD Pastel Blue 1st YEAR Snorkel Sentinel Fine Point. Length capped – 5 1/2. Sheaffer produced their first Snorkels in 1952 with gold colored Snorkel tubes and made no announcements about it. For the duration of the prouction run through 1959, the Snorkel tubes were made of stainless steel. It wasn’t until years later that a couple of collectors had those first year tubes assayed and announced that the results showed the tubes were solid 14k gold. Now of course the first year pens are sought-after collectibles. The stainless steel cap has two pin-prick dings shown in the photos. The filling system has been refurbished with a new O ring, new point seal, and new sac. It’s a smooth fine to medium point writer.
