Black Pen For Men I (PFM I). Fine Point Pen & Mechanical Pencil. Length capped – 5 3/8. Mechanical pencil propels and retracts, has excellent eraser and extra leads. Case is original and excellent. Excellent restored condition (see condition statement above). This set was restored from an excellent original set in the original case. Pen For Men is a Sheaffer model line consisting of five different pen styles made during the 1960s. The production run ended in 1968. Restored Sheaffer Excellent Green Pen For Men I. (PFM I) Pen & Pencil, Fine Point. Length capped – 5 3/8. Pencil propels and retracts, has extra leads. Case is good with replacement liner. This is an excellent example of Sheaffer’s Pen For Men I with matching pencil in uncommon green. The set has been fully restored from a very good original set and has the original case which is in good condition with a replacement liner (see photos). It has a new sac, new point seal, and new O ring and fills perfectly. The nib has been smoothed and adjusted for medium ink flow (please see the photo of the writing sample). Sheaffer made five Pen For Men models and named them with roman numerals from I through V. The line was first produced in 1959 but offerings were pared back to just the III and V in 1963. Sheaffer terminated PFM production in 1968. Thus the PFM I, II, and IV are less frequently seen and green is one of the less common colors. I will provide photocopies of Sheaffer’s original directions that were included with these sets. I guarantee the pens I restore write smoothly and fill as designed. Restored Sheaffer NEAR MINT. Pastel Gray Snorkel Clipper. Fine Point Pen & Pencil. Length capped – 5 1/2. Pencil has new eraser and extra leads, propels and retracts as it should. Case – near mint. Near mint pen and pencil set restored from near mint original examples. Both pen and pencil look and operate perfectly, and the case is also near mint. An interesting feature of the pen is its color-matched section. Some Snorkel history: Snorkels were manufactured from 1952 to 1959. Black, burgundy, and pastel blue, green, and gray were the five original colors and came with black sections. They remained in the lineup throughout the entire production run. In 1956 however Sheaffer introduced 6 new colors and most of them had sections in matching colors. Very few of the original color Snorkels (from late in the production run) are found with color matched sections, and this pen is one of them. The sticker on the section is original and there is a tiny fragment of the original chalk marks visible on the barrel–please see the next-to-last photo. Also included with this set is the original Sheaffer enclosure with filling directions. I guarantee the pens I restore write smoothly and fill as designed.
