Sheaffer’s line of PFM pens was produced from 1959 through 1968, although all but PFM III and PFM V were discontinued in 1963. Color selection was quite basic: black, burgundy, blue, dark gray, and green. This excellent example is completely restored. New seals and PVC sac, tuned medium nib (see the photo of the writing sample), and flawless plastic surface and plating. I’ll include a copy of the original PFM enclosure giving directions for the Snorkel filling system and other information. I guarantee the pens I restore write smoothly and fill as designed. Restored Sheaffer Very Good Black Pen For Men I. (PFM I), Fine Point. Length capped – 5 3/8. The Pens For Men, which ironically were highly unpopular in their day, have now become one of the most sought after Sheaffers. They were produced from 1959 through 1968, with all but the PFM III and V withdrawn by 1962. This example, a PFM I, has chrome trim and PdAg (palladium silver) inlaid nib. It is a very smooth writing pen with medium ink flow and all new wear parts–point and barrel end seals and PVC sac. It came to me with a cracked section which I have repaired with the result that it’s almost invisible (see next-to-last photo). I guarantee the pens I restore write smoothly and fill as designed.
